Spanish reports confirm that Real Madrid is not looking to sign a new goalkeeper in the near future, despite the controversy surrounding Belgian keeper Thibaut Courtois's injury during the 2026 World Cup.

According to the Spanish newspaper "AS", Courtois finished the tournament amid widespread discussions about his substitution and recent injury, which will require him to continue his recovery program during the summer break, but it does not threaten his participation at the start of the new season.

Despite rumors linking the club with a search for a replacement, Real Madrid's management believes that the goalkeeper position is fully secured with Courtois and Andriy Lunin, along with rising talents from the club's academy.

Furthermore, the club is already working on extending Courtois's contract, which currently runs until the summer of 2027, as the Belgian keeper's abilities are fully trusted within the club.

The club continues to rely on Lunin, whose contract extends until 2030, and he is viewed as the ideal second-choice keeper due to his constant mental and physical readiness. In terms of young talents, Real Madrid is particularly focused on the development of goalkeepers Fran González and Javi Navarro.

The current plan is to loan Fran González to a La Liga club to gain more experience, provided that the sporting project ensures regular playing time for the keeper.

As for Javi Navarro, who recently became a European champion with Spain's U19 team, he will be part of Real Madrid Castilla next season, where he will compete with Sergio Mistry for the starting goalkeeper position.
