Governor of Dakahlia to Honor Al Ahly Duo
Tarik Marzouk, the Governor of Dakahlia, announced the organization of a ceremony to honor Al Ahly and Egypt national team duo, Imam Ashour and Yasser Ibrahim, in recognition of their outstanding performances with the Pharaohs at the 2026 World Cup. The pair played a crucial role in Egypt's significant achievement of reaching the Round of 16 before being eliminated by Argentina with a score of 3-2. Marzouk stated during the Al Ahly event for the inauguration of the club's branch in New Mansoura: "I request permission from Mahmoud El Khatib to hold a ceremony to honor the duo Yasser Ibrahim and Imam Ashour, as they are from Dakahlia Governorate and excelled in the World Cup with the national team." In a historic move to enhance its geographical and investment expansion plan, the Al Ahly board, led by Captain Mahmoud El Khatib, laid the foundation stone for the new club headquarters in New Mansoura on Monday, July 13, 2026, marking the first official branch of the Red Castle outside Greater Cairo and in the heart of the Delta region.
