Alonso Clarifies Enzo Fernandez and Garnacho's Future at Chelsea
Xabi Alonso, Chelsea's head coach, has clarified the futures of Enzo Fernandez and Alejandro Garnacho during his recent statements, also discussing his plans for the new season and several team matters.
Alonso confirmed that striker Nicolas Jackson will join Chelsea's squad for their pre-season tour in Asia, expressing his excitement to work with him in the upcoming period. He stated: "Nicolas Jackson will join the team on the Asia tour, and we look forward to working with him."
Regarding Alejandro Garnacho's future, the Spanish coach noted interest from several clubs in acquiring the player, adding: "There is interest from other clubs in him, and we hope it ends in the best possible way for everyone."
Alonso also praised Marco Palystra's potential, emphasizing his tactical flexibility, saying: "I am very happy with Marco Palystra; he is a player who gives you flexibility in positioning and can play in a four or five-man defense."
He added: "He has played sometimes on the left side, is physically strong, and has an excellent mentality."
Concerning Enzo Fernandez's future, who has recently been linked with a move to Real Madrid, Alonso only mentioned that he spoke with the player without disclosing details of their conversation, stating: "I spoke with him, but as you know, what we said will remain a secret."
Alonso concluded his remarks by expressing his enthusiasm for coaching in the Premier League, saying: "The Premier League is the most competitive league in the world, and I am very excited to coach Chelsea. Chelsea has achieved great successes and has brought in many great players and coaches, and I feel proud, grateful, and fully prepared."
