The Iraqi team could not progress beyond the group stage, suffering three consecutive defeats to exit the tournament in the first round.

The matches were competitive at times, but the technical differences and international experience played a role in determining the results in favor of the opponents.

Throughout the three matches, disciplinary issues were evident, with players receiving 4 yellow cards and one direct red card, which later reflected in FIFA's fine.

A source within the Iraqi federation stated: "FIFA deals firmly with any disciplinary violations in the World Cup. The fine is a lesson for us and the players. In major tournaments, small details make the difference, and unjustified cards cost us money and reputation."

The source added that the federation will hold a workshop for players and the coaching staff on the disciplinary regulations before upcoming challenges, especially the 2027 AFC Cup qualifiers.
