Atalanta Moves to Renew Ederson's Contract After Failed Manchester United Transfer
Atalanta has begun steps to retain Brazilian midfielder Ederson after his transfer to Manchester United fell through during the summer transfer window.
According to "Football Italia," the two clubs had reached an agreement worth €45 million, but the deal was halted due to concerns that arose during the player's medical examinations.
The report added that Ederson underwent the first phase of his medical tests in the United States before being called to the UK by Manchester United for additional tests, after which they decided not to proceed with the transfer.
The same source indicated that Atalanta is preparing to offer a new contract to the player, whose current deal expires in the summer of 2027.
The Italian club maintains that there are no serious medical or physical issues with Ederson and plans to hold a meeting with his representatives in the coming weeks to discuss his future.
The Brazilian midfielder is currently enjoying his summer vacation after completing his participation with the Brazil national team in the 2026 World Cup, while Atalanta seeks to secure his continued presence in the squad.
