British media reports reveal that Barcelona will be required to pay between €7 and €8 million to Manchester City if they renew the contract of Spanish forward Ferran Torres.

According to The Athletic, this amount is linked to a clause agreed upon between the two clubs when the player transferred to Barcelona in 2021.

Reports indicate that the existence of this clause is one of the main reasons why Barcelona has not yet made a formal renewal offer to Ferran, despite his contract running until the summer of 2027.

Furthermore, the Catalan management does not rule out selling the player if a suitable offer arrives during the transfer window, especially with Paris Saint-Germain showing interest in acquiring his services.

This comes as Barcelona continues to carefully assess its financial situation, particularly as it seeks to make new attacking signings this summer, which could impact the future of some players within the squad.

Club president Joan Laporta recently confirmed that Ferran Torres is an important player in the current project, but he did not announce any advanced negotiations for a contract renewal.
