Hossam Abdel-Meguid Agrees to Priority Clause for Zamalek Return
Zamalek defender Hossam Abdel-Meguid has agreed to include a clause in his upcoming foreign transfer contract that stipulates he can only return to the Egyptian league through Zamalek, or that Zamalek will have priority if he wishes to return, as revealed by journalist Hani Hathout. Hathout mentioned on his Facebook account that this step is intended to demonstrate the player's goodwill and commitment, reassuring Zamalek's management and alleviating their concerns about the possibility of using a foreign transfer as a stepping stone to a rival club in the future. Hathout also confirmed via X platform that Hossam Abdel-Meguid is close to joining Bulgarian club Ludogorets, with the contract expected to last for three years. It includes additional clauses that grant Zamalek €300,000 if the Bulgarian team qualifies for the UEFA Champions League group stage, or €100,000 if they reach the UEFA Europa League group stage. Furthermore, the agreement ensures that Zamalek will receive 20% of any future transfer fee for the young defender, provided the new deal exceeds €4 million.
