Early Dispute Between Mourinho and Perez at Real Madrid
Jose Mourinho is reportedly encountering his first difference of opinion with Real Madrid president Florentino Perez before the new season kicks off, particularly regarding the coaching staff and the future of Antonio Pintus, the team's fitness coach.
According to Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," Perez, backed by general director Jose Angel Sanchez, has traditionally held the final say on decisions concerning the first team, which may put him at odds with Mourinho, who returns to manage Real Madrid after 13 years.
The Portuguese coach is said to prefer not to retain Pintus in his staff and wishes to work with Antonio Dias, a fitness coach he collaborated with at Benfica, where the team experienced very few injuries during his tenure.
The same source noted that this issue has previously sparked controversy within the club, as Xabi Alonso also did not want to keep Pintus when he took over, before the Italian was later included in the coaching staff by the president's decision, just days before Alonso's departure.
The newspaper highlighted that Pintus's role in the coaching staff for the upcoming season remains undecided, despite Mourinho appearing with his coaching team, as the organizational structure is still incomplete.
The report confirmed that Mourinho and Florentino Perez will need to reach an understanding on this matter to serve the interests of Real Madrid, which is aiming to reclaim titles after two seasons without silverware.
