Barcelona Eyes Jorge Salinas Decision

Barcelona continues to keep an eye on the situation of young Spanish defender Jorge Salinas, who concluded the 2025/2026 season by winning the UEFA U19 Championship with Spain, showcasing his talent as both a full-back and center-back.

According to "Mundo Deportivo," Racing, newly promoted to La Liga, is awaiting the player's return to finalize his future, as he holds the final say with a contract running until June 2029.

The report added that Barcelona has shown interest in signing Salinas, but differing valuations have stalled negotiations, with the Catalan club insisting on an €8 million fee, while Racing has raised their demands to €16 million following their promotion.

The report also clarified that Barcelona proposed including one of their academy players in the deal, although the identity of the player was not disclosed.

Other proposals included Salinas moving to Barcelona while remaining on loan for an additional season at Racing, allowing him to continue his development before joining the first team.

Jorge Mendes manages the player's affairs, while Atletico Madrid continues to express interest in signing him, as they await his final decision regarding his future.
