Ajax Opens Negotiations to Sign Marcos Leonardo from Al Hilal
Reports indicate that Dutch club Ajax Amsterdam has officially entered negotiations to sign Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo from Al Hilal during the current summer transfer window.
Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Ajax's management has begun discussions with both Al Hilal and the player, as the Brazilian forward is no longer in the Saudi club's plans for the new season.
Romano noted that the 23-year-old Marcos Leonardo is close to leaving Al Hilal, prompting the Dutch club to act swiftly to secure the deal.
Ajax views the Brazilian striker as a suitable option to strengthen their center-forward position, especially with the team's need for a new attacking element.
The Italian journalist added that Ajax is considering acquiring the player either through a loan or a permanent transfer, with negotiations ongoing to reach a suitable agreement for all parties involved.
According to Dutch reports, Ajax's sporting director, Jordi Cruyff, has reached out to Marcos Leonardo, who has expressed his willingness to move to the Dutch league in the near future.
Al Hilal's management is keen to resolve the Brazilian player's future as soon as possible, while Ajax continues its efforts to finalize the agreement, whether through a permanent signing or a loan deal.
