Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid are dominating the Spanish transfer market just 11 days into the summer window, both teams eager to bounce back after a trophyless season.

The Royal Club, now under the guidance of Portuguese manager José Mourinho, has clearly focused on strengthening their defense, signing Ibrahima Konaté, Marc Cucurella, and Denzel Dumfries, alongside bringing in Bernardo Silva on a free transfer.

Real Madrid's investments have reached approximately €75 million, with most of that coming from the signings of Cucurella for €55 million and Dumfries for €20 million, while Silva and Konaté arrived for free.

On the other hand, Atletico Madrid has spent €62 million on just two signings, acquiring Alejandro Grimaldo from Bayer Leverkusen for €22 million and Danish player Morten Hjulmand from Sporting Lisbon for €40 million.

Atletico is also in talks with Paris Saint-Germain to sign South Korean Kang In Lee, a deal that could significantly increase their spending.

In terms of sales, Real Madrid is currently ahead financially, having generated €7.5 million from the sales of Fran García to Real Betis and Mario Martín to Getafe. Meanwhile, despite the departures of notable players like Clément Lenglet and club legend Antoine Griezmann, Atletico Madrid has yet to earn any revenue from player sales.

It seems that the Spanish capital will be the focal point of this summer's transfer market, as both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid continue to bolster their squads in preparation for the 2026-2027 season.

Notably, Barcelona has signed Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United for €70 million plus €10 million in add-ons.
