Solbakken Responds to England Fans: Stopping Haaland Doesn't Stop Norway
Norway's head coach, Ståle Solbakken, emphasized that reducing the strength of his national team to Erling Haaland is an underestimation of the other players. This comes in response to some England fans' belief that stopping the Manchester City striker would mean stopping the entire Norwegian team.
Solbakken stated, "There’s no doubt that Haaland is our most decisive player, but I think you underestimate some of the other players if you believe he represents the whole team."
He added, "In the end, Haaland needs support and opportunities created for him, and he relies on the other players to provide him with passes and balls on the pitch; however, no one can deny that he is, of course, a crucial and very important player for us."
Solbakken's comments come ahead of the highly anticipated quarter-final clash against England, sending a clear message that Norway's strength does not solely depend on Haaland, but on the collective system surrounding him on the field.
