Al Hilal Pursues Rafinha Despite Barcelona's Resistance
Saudi club Al Hilal continues its efforts to sign Brazilian winger Rafinha from Barcelona during the summer transfer window, as the player remains a top priority for the club despite his desire to stay with the Catalan team.
Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" confirmed that Al Hilal has targeted Rafinha for some time, while journalist Fabrizio Romano noted that the player is currently not considering leaving Barcelona and prioritizes staying with the Spanish club.
Despite the player's stance, Al Hilal is not planning to back down from its interest, as the Spanish outlet reported that the Saudi club is prepared to make an offer close to €80 million to secure the deal, along with a financial package that would quadruple Rafinha's current net salary.
Al Hilal's moves are backed by the financial support of the Saudi Public Investment Fund, which continues to invest in attracting top stars to strengthen the Saudi league.
Meanwhile, Rafinha is recovering from a hamstring injury sustained during the World Cup, which limited him to just two appearances in the tournament, and he is expected to be ready for the pre-season preparations for the new season.
Rafinha is under contract with Barcelona until 2028 and enjoys the full confidence of coach Hans Flick, who sees him as a key player in the team's project, but Al Hilal's interest remains as they await any developments regarding the player's situation during the transfer window.
