Manchester City Signs Young Talent Jeremy Munga
Manchester City announced on Saturday that they have officially signed young English winger Jeremy Munga from Leicester City on a five-year deal, keeping him at the club until the summer of 2031.
Munga, who is 17 years old, is regarded as one of the brightest emerging talents in English football, having progressed through Leicester City's academy since the Under-9 level. He caught the eye with his speed, dribbling skills, physical strength, and goal-scoring instinct, quickly advancing to the Under-21 team at just 15 years of age.
The player has also set several records during his time with Leicester City, becoming the youngest player to start a match in the club's history in the 2025-2026 season, before breaking the record for the youngest goalscorer in the EFL Championship, previously held by Jude Bellingham.
Upon joining Manchester City, Munga said: "When I learned of Manchester City's interest in signing me, I immediately realized that this was the right decision for me. Joining this club is a dream come true for any young player. It has been the best club in England over the past ten years and has provided opportunities for academy players to reach the first team, which shows that the pathway is available. It is a great honor to be here, and I am very happy to join the club."
Meanwhile, Manchester City's sporting director, Hugo Vieira, stated: "Jeremy is an extremely talented player who has shown significant development at a young age. We have been following him for some time, and we believe this move is the best step for his career. We look forward to supporting him and helping him continue to develop over the coming years."
