Ibrahim Hassan's Remarks After Egypt's Return from World Cup

Ibrahim Hassan, the manager of the Egyptian national team, expressed deep gratitude to the Egyptian fans who rallied behind the team, providing unwavering support and creating a proud atmosphere in the stands, following the Pharaohs' exit from the 2026 World Cup. Egypt was eliminated in the Round of 16 after a 3-2 defeat to Argentina last Tuesday at the Atlanta Stadium. The Egyptian delegation returned to Egypt after their World Cup campaign, receiving a warm welcome at Alamein International Airport. In statements made to ON Sports, Ibrahim Hassan said, "Thank God for everything, we are grateful for the tremendous support from the fans. We anticipated their backing and gave our all for them, and we are happy with the support from the Egyptian community in America and Canada, especially since the team reignited the passion of the fans, particularly the younger supporters." He added, "We were deeply affected and felt great sadness after exiting the World Cup, especially after leading Argentina 2-0, but we ultimately lost due to external interventions." Ibrahim Hassan noted, "We received a lot of support and apologies in America after losing to Argentina, as we exited the tournament honorably and with a significant effort. We told the players to forget about returning to Egypt early, as our primary ambition was to reach the furthest stage possible in the World Cup." He also mentioned that Hossam Hassan meticulously studied all of Egypt's opponents and worked hard throughout the Pharaohs' World Cup journey. He concluded, "God rewarded us after a long wait, and the justice and recognition were proportional to the effort we put in and the tremendous achievement we reached, as our intentions were pure in our love for Egypt."
