Mourinho: This is what I want, and we didn't just start today
Portuguese coach José Mourinho spoke to Real Madrid's official website following his first appearance at the "Valdebebas" training complex, preparing for his new chapter with the club.
The Portuguese manager stated, "Words are not enough, as this feels like a mission for me. I am here to help everyone become better, the players, the coaching staff, and everyone working within the club. I want to create a culture of work, responsibility, and ambition, as working for Real Madrid is a great honor for me."
He added, "We didn't just start working today; we have been collaborating with the club's management on various levels for a long time. Technology has allowed us to monitor everything, and today the goal was to review what has been accomplished and what steps remain."
Mourinho concluded his remarks by saying, "I will use the next two weeks to get to know the players I will be working with and to give them a chance to get to know me as well. I love this club very much, and I feel a great confidence in the new project. Hala Madrid and nothing else."
Spanish reports revealed that Real Madrid has set up a preparatory program that includes four friendly matches, including a clash against Deportivo La Coruña in the Teresa Herrera Trophy and a match against Fiorentina in Austria on August 1, along with two other friendlies before the start of La Liga.
Real Madrid is expected to kick off their official La Liga campaign on August 23 against Espanyol at the RCDE Stadium, after the postponement of their opening match due to several players participating in the later stages of the World Cup.
