Didier Deschamps, the head coach of the French national team, has reassured fans regarding the physical condition of Kylian Mbappé and Manu Kone after they were substituted due to injuries during the 2-0 victory over Morocco in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup.

In statements following the match, Deschamps said: "Reaching three consecutive semi-finals is very good, but it seems natural when you have a wonderful group of players. The match was complicated, and missing a penalty and easy chances made things more difficult, but Mbappé responded excellently and scored the first goal."

He added: "We are in the place we wanted to be, and we will recover well before knowing our next opponent tomorrow, whether it’s Spain or Belgium."

Regarding the condition of Manu Kone and Mbappé, he stated: "Mbappé has a minor ankle issue and was feeling some pain. As for Manu Kone, he suffered a knee injury and cramps, but there is nothing to worry about."

The French coach praised Warren Zaïre-Emery's contribution after he came on as a substitute, saying: "He had a great match, and it’s important that all players feel ready to participate at any moment."

He concluded: "This is what distinguishes sports and football: we create emotions and share them. I imagine there is great passion in France, even while we are in isolation. The players have a duty to give their best to go as far as possible. This is an important stage; we are still in the semi-finals."
