Milan has received disappointing news ahead of the new season, as American star Christian Pulisic is set to miss up to 6 weeks due to an injury sustained during his national team's quarter-final match against Belgium in the World Cup.

Pulisic was forced to leave the match after suffering a double injury from a strong challenge by a Belgian player, injuring the area between his shinbone and fibula while attempting to reach the ball.

Medical examinations revealed swelling in the fibula, with recovery expected to take around 6 weeks, including 3 weeks of rest. The player will undergo a rehabilitation program during the remaining 3 weeks to regain physical fitness.

Despite the lengthy absence, there is optimism within Milan, as the medical and coaching staff hope to have the number 11 player back in time for the opening match against Torino in the Serie A, ready for the start of the new season.

Pulisic's injury is a blow for coach Ruben Amorim, who will lose one of his key players for a significant part of the summer preparations, after the player finished last season with 10 goals and 4 assists.
