Real Madrid has officially announced its first pre-season friendly as part of its preparations for the new season, facing Deportivo La Coruña on August 12 at Riazor Stadium, in a match that is part of the Teresa Herrera Trophy.

Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo" reported that this match marks the first confirmed friendly for Real Madrid during the summer preparation period, following months of speculation about the team's participation in the Teresa Herrera Trophy, which the club has now officially confirmed.

Real Madrid last participated in the tournament in 2013 and is the most successful club in its history, having lifted the trophy nine times in the years 1949, 1953, 1966, 1976, 1978, 1979, 1980, 1994, and 2013.

The same source added that Italian media reported a potential friendly match between Real Madrid and Fiorentina in Austria on August 1, although the club has yet to issue any official announcement confirming this match.
