German coach Jurgen Klopp is on the verge of taking charge of the Germany national team, as the German Football Association has reached a verbal agreement with him to lead the squad, following Julian Nagelsmann's resignation after the team's exit in the Round of 32 at the 2026 World Cup against Paraguay.

The German newspaper "Bild" reported that the agreement between the German Football Association and Klopp was made verbally, with a delegation from the association set to meet with the coach in the coming days to finalize the official contract and announce his appointment.

According to the report, the anticipated contract will last for four years, allowing Klopp to lead his national team until the 2030 World Cup, marking his return to coaching after holding an administrative position within the Red Bull group, which owns several clubs.

Bild also noted that Klopp will earn a salary slightly exceeding €7 million annually, while the German Football Association will not incur any fees to terminate his current ties with the Red Bull group.

It is expected that the former Liverpool manager will continue his association with the Red Bull group in a brand ambassador role, alongside his new responsibilities as head coach of the Germany national team.
