Klinsmann: Egypt to Join World's Top 10 Teams
Jurgen Klinsmann, the German football legend, praised the performance of the Egypt national team in the 2026 World Cup, asserting that they will be among the top 10 teams in the world in the coming years.
Egypt exited the 2026 World Cup after losing to Argentina 3-2 in the Round of 16 match held last Tuesday.
Klinsmann stated in comments to FIFA: "There is no doubt that teams qualifying from Africa must be strong teams. They brought a lot of joy to the tournament, provided many surprising moments, and played wonderful football, which is part of the World Cup story."
He added: "These countries will grow to become major powers and have the potential to be teams we eventually see among the top ten in the world in 15-20 years."
The German legend concluded his remarks: "Egypt has always been highly respected by everyone around the world. They haven't shown that yet in the World Cup by reaching the semifinals like Morocco did in 2022, but they are always in the semifinals of the Africa Cup of Nations and have top-class players in European leagues, which means a lot."
