Zizo's Heartfelt Message After World Cup Exit
Ahmed Sayed Zizo, the Egyptian national team player, shared an emotional message with fans following the Pharaohs' achievement at the 2026 World Cup, hoping it marks the beginning of greater things to come. Egypt exited the tournament last Tuesday after a 3-2 defeat to Argentina in the Round of 16 at the Atlanta stadium. About 24 hours after the match, Zizo posted on his personal Instagram account, stating: "What happened is not just a football achievement, but a moment that will be etched in Egypt's history." He added: "I am very proud of what we achieved, and even prouder to have been part of a journey that brought smiles to millions of Egyptians. There is no feeling that compares to seeing an entire nation happy, holding its head high, and feeling proud of its country." He continued: "For a long time, our dream was for Egypt to write a new chapter in the World Cup, and today that dream has become a reality. This achievement does not belong to a generation or a group of players; it is an achievement for every Egyptian who believed, endured, and supported until the last moment." Zizo concluded: "Egypt's joy today is greater than anything in the world. No tournament or title equals the moment you see your country's flag raised, and its name echoed with pride and respect among the world's greatest teams." He finished with: "Thank God always and forever, and I pray that this is just the beginning, and that Egypt's flag remains at the highest place. Long live Egypt."
