Fulham FC has officially announced the appointment of Spanish coach Alvaro Arbeloa as the new head coach of the first team, signing a contract that runs until the summer of 2029.

In his first comments after the appointment, Arbeloa stated: "I am very honored to start this new chapter with Fulham, the oldest club in London. I feel a great responsibility and I thank Mr. Shahid Khan and Tony Khan for the trust they have placed in me. I look forward to experiencing the atmosphere at Craven Cottage with Fulham fans and starting the pre-season preparations with the players next week. I am confident that we will embark on a wonderful journey together."

Club owner Shahid Khan confirmed that Arbeloa was the standout candidate from the beginning of the selection process, noting that his great ambition, experience with top clubs and coaches, belief in developing young players, and desire to play attacking football made him the ideal choice to lead the team in the upcoming phase.

Meanwhile, Tony Khan expressed his happiness with the hiring of the Spanish coach, emphasizing that he possesses great intelligence, deep football knowledge, and a strong work ethic, while expressing confidence in Arbeloa's ability to lead the club towards a successful future.

Arbeloa arrives at Fulham after a coaching career that began with youth teams at Real Madrid, before leading the reserve team and then taking charge of the first team, where he finished the season in second place in La Liga and achieved a significant victory over Manchester City with an aggregate score of 5-1 in the UEFA Champions League.

Arbeloa also has a distinguished playing career, having won two UEFA Champions League titles, one La Liga title, and several other trophies with Real Madrid, as well as winning the 2010 FIFA World Cup and two UEFA European Championships in 2008 and 2012 with the Spanish national team. He also had stints in the Premier League with Liverpool and West Ham United before retiring from football.
