Minister of Youth and Sports: Egypt National Team to Receive Hero's Welcome

Minister of Youth and Sports, Jawhar Nabil, expressed pride in the Egyptian national team's performance at the 2026 World Cup, praising the display by the "Pharaohs" under coach Hossam Hassan, despite their exit in the Round of 16 against Argentina.

Jawhar Nabil stated after the match: "Hossam Hassan has raised our heads high, as a national coach who successfully led the team to showcase commendable performances against the world's top teams."

He added: "There will be a hero's welcome for the national team delegation at Cairo Airport, in appreciation of the players and coaching staff's heroic efforts throughout the tournament."

The Egyptian team delivered an impressive tournament, reaching the Round of 16 for the first time in the modern format, before being eliminated after a thrilling 3-2 loss to Argentina, following a performance that received widespread acclaim.
