Paredes: Our Journey Continues, We Never Felt Out of the Game

Leandro Paredes, Argentina's midfielder, stated that the fighting spirit and belief until the last moment were the reasons behind their comeback against Egypt, winning 3-2 in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

Paredes said in a post-match interview: "I didn't realize how important that defensive moment was in the final minutes, but we always give our all for the team."

He added: "We never felt out of the game, and we never stopped believing or trusting in our ability to come back."

He continued: "We took a heavy blow, and it was extremely difficult, but this team will always keep fighting no matter the circumstances."
