However, indications suggest that Barcelona is his preferred choice, with no official agreement in place yet, and Atlético Madrid is not inclined to facilitate his departure.

In this context, journalist José Álvarez stated on the program "El Chiringuito" that Barcelona has not changed its stance, noting that the club's management will take action again after the World Cup, following the plan set by president Joan Laporta.

He added that communications between Barcelona and Atlético Madrid are ongoing, but both parties have agreed to postpone any decisive steps until after the tournament. He confirmed that the offer mentioned by Laporta is still on the table, and the Catalan club continues to await the player's decision.

José Álvarez pointed out that Barcelona has not closed the door on the transfer despite the current waiting period, predicting that the club will make a new and final offer after the World Cup, while maintaining communication channels with Atlético Madrid in an effort to reach an agreement regarding Julián Álvarez's transfer.
