Mohamed Alaa: Thanks to President Sisi, We Will Fight for Egypt's Honor

Mohamed Alaa, Egypt's goalkeeper, revealed that the team has been in intense focus since the start of their 2026 World Cup preparation camp, emphasizing their readiness for one of the toughest matches of the tournament tonight against Argentina, the reigning world champions.

Egypt is set to face Argentina today, Tuesday, at 7 PM Cairo and Mecca time in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup.

In statements to the press during yesterday's training session ahead of the match, Alaa noted that head coach Hossam Hassan and the entire coaching staff are working to prepare and motivate the players to achieve victory and delight Egyptian fans.

The Egyptian goalkeeper also sent a message to President Sisi, saying: "I would like to thank President Abdel Fattah Sisi for his continuous support and congratulations after every victory. I assure him that all the players will fight until the last moment to honor Egypt and make the fans happy."

Egypt qualified for the Round of 16 by defeating Australia in the Round of 32 on penalties, winning 4-2 after a 1-1 draw in regular and extra time.
