Fermin Lopez Nears Recovery from Injury
Fermin Lopez is nearing full fitness following the injury he sustained last May. According to Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo," the Barcelona midfielder's recovery program is progressing as planned, boosting his chances of participating in the opening of La Liga.
The 23-year-old suffered a fracture in the fifth metatarsal of his right foot during a match against Real Betis and subsequently underwent surgery at a Barcelona hospital, which ruled him out of the World Cup.
The same source reported that Fermin has already begun running after completing a significant part of his rehabilitation program, under the supervision of physiotherapist Jose Cortes and in coordination with Dr. Ricard Bruna, head of Barcelona's medical services.
The recovery phases align with the start of La Liga in mid-August, with both the player and medical staff confirming that there will be no rush to return before he is fully fit, while the rehabilitation process is on schedule.
During his recovery, Fermin shared a message on his social media accounts stating, "The suffering you face now is nothing compared to the glory that awaits you."
The imminent return of Fermin Lopez is a significant boost for Barcelona ahead of the new season, after injury prevented him from representing the Spanish national team in the World Cup, as fans eagerly await his full recovery to rejoin the squad.
