Marcus Rashford's chances of staying at Manchester United are increasing, as the Manchester Evening News reports positive discussions between the player's representatives and the club's management, paving the way for his return to the squad during pre-season preparations. This comes despite his initial priority being to continue his career at Barcelona.

The report indicates that Rashford, who spent last season on loan at Barcelona, may prefer to remain at Old Trafford rather than move to another Premier League club, especially after Barcelona did not activate the €30 million buy option.

The 28-year-old is under contract with Manchester United until 2028, despite previous expectations suggesting he might leave due to his high salary and the prevailing impression that his time at the club was coming to an end.

Rashford confirmed from the England camp at the World Cup that he wanted to resolve his future before the tournament began, but he opted to postpone any decision until its conclusion to fully focus on his national team.

Meanwhile, journalist Fabrizio Romano clarified that Manchester United has not initiated any negotiations to sign Cresencio Summerville, noting that the club's priority in the transfer market is to strengthen the midfield, while Rashford's future will remain a significant factor in determining the club's next moves.
