Royal Army Secures CAF Confederation Cup Qualification

Royal Army has officially secured its place in the CAF Confederation Cup for the upcoming season, joining Raja in representing Moroccan football. This follows the decision by the National Professional Football League to postpone the completion of the Throne Cup to the next sports season.

The league announced in an official statement that the decision was made in coordination with the Competitions Committee of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, deciding to halt the Throne Cup competitions for the 2024-2025 season after the postponed match between Royal Army and Wydad de Fès, scheduled for Wednesday, July 8.

The statement clarified that league competitions will resume with the start of the new sports season, according to a schedule to be announced later.

This decision comes as the deadline set by the Confederation of African Football for registering clubs participating in continental competitions approaches, with CAF requiring national federations to submit the final list of representative clubs by July 30.

As a result of this development, the list of Moroccan clubs participating in African competitions for the next season is now complete, with FUS Rabat and RS Berkane competing in the CAF Champions League, while Raja and Royal Army will represent Morocco in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The new editions of the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup are expected to kick off in early September, according to the schedule set by CAF.
