Tottenham Officially Signs Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United

Tottenham Hotspur has officially announced the signing of Italian midfielder Sandro Tonali from Newcastle United, following the completion of necessary procedures and obtaining a work permit.

The former AC Milan star joins Spurs for a fee of €100 million, signing a long-term contract that runs until the summer of 2032.

Tonali expressed his immense happiness at joining the London club, stating that his choice was clear from the beginning. He said: "I am very happy to be here. When I arrived at the club today, I felt something special. It was said that there were four or five clubs interested, but for me, there was only one club." He added that he had a nearly two-hour conversation with coach Roberto De Zerbi, which convinced him immediately that Tottenham was the right destination for him.

Sporting director Johan Lange confirmed that Tonali is one of the best midfielders in Europe, praising his technical abilities, tactical intelligence, and strong personality. Coach De Zerbi described the deal as "exceptional," noting that he has followed the player's development since his early days at Brescia, and that Tonali showed a clear desire to join Tottenham despite the significant interest he received this summer.

Tonali arrives at Tottenham after a distinguished career that began with Brescia before moving to AC Milan, where he won the Serie A title in the 2021-2022 season. He then transferred to Newcastle in 2023, making 110 appearances and scoring 10 goals, contributing to the team's victory in the EFL Cup in 2025. He also has 32 international caps with the Italian national team.
