Haaland: Playing for Norway is an honor, here's how I stay focused
Erling Haaland, Norway's striker, expressed his joy after leading his country to a 2-1 victory over Brazil, securing a spot in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup. He emphasized that maintaining focus is the key to his success in front of goal.
Haaland spoke about his ability to capitalize on opportunities, stating: "That's usually how it goes for me; if I get one or two chances, they often end up as goals."
He added: "I don't know how I do it, but that's my way, so it's all about keeping focused. I tell myself that the opportunity will come, and then I usually know right away if I haven't scored."
Haaland also sent a message to his country's fans, especially the younger generations, stressing the importance of representing the national team.
He said: "We keep moving forward constantly, but I hope all the young people watching this match hear what I'm saying. I hope that when you grow up a little, you'll see that playing for the Norway national team is the most you can be proud of in your entire life; it's truly amazing."
