Norway's Coach: Brazil Made Us Patient, We Should Be Proud of This Victory

Ståle Solbakken, the head coach of the Norway national team, expressed his immense joy after leading his team to a 2-1 victory over Brazil, securing a spot in the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup. He emphasized that the Norwegian team deserved the win after a challenging tactical match.

Solbakken stated: "I believe every Norwegian can enjoy this night; it was an incredibly exciting match, and it could have gone either way. However, we delivered a strong tactical performance, made some mistakes in losing possession that could have cost us dearly, but in the end, things went our way, and we should be very proud of that."

The Norway coach discussed the reasons behind his team's success against Brazil, explaining that their playing style required his players to be patient throughout the match.

He added: "Why did things go our way? Well, it’s a bit like facing Manchester City and Real Madrid; they sit back and rely on counter-attacks, while we had to wear them down gradually, as that’s the style we excel at, and I think we did that well."
