Al-Shorta is close to finalizing a deal to re-sign their former player and striker Mohanad Ali "Mimi", who is currently with UAE's Dibba Al-Fujairah. The player is now a free agent after completing his season with the Emirati team.

Mimi ended his contract with Dibba Al-Fujairah after a season that did not meet expectations. He participated in 20 matches, scoring 6 goals and providing 1 assist.

The numbers aren't bad, but an injury in the second half of the season kept him off the pitch for a significant amount of time, affecting his gradual return to his known level.

Despite this, the Al-Shorta management believes that Mimi's return could be the most significant morale-boosting signing this summer.

Mohanad Ali "Mimi" needs no introduction to Al-Shorta fans. He previously represented the Green Lyre and grew up within the club's walls, being one of the best players in the club's history.

He scored over 80 goals for Al-Shorta since his youth and was a key reason for the team's success in various local championships.

A crucial factor that may expedite the deal is the new coach of Al-Shorta, Tunisian Sami Al-Trabelsi, who previously coached Mimi at Qatari club Al-Siliya and knows his capabilities and physical issues well.

Sources confirmed that Al-Trabelsi's opinion on Mimi's return was positive, as he needs an experienced striker in the box who can quickly understand his tactical ideas.

Sources close to the club's management indicated that they are close to officially finalizing the player's deal in the coming days. Negotiations are advanced, and both parties are eager to complete the return.
