Ronaldo: 2026 World Cup Will Be My Last
Cristiano Ronaldo has put an end to speculation about his international future by announcing that the 2026 World Cup will be his last with the Portugal national team.
During a press conference ahead of the match against Spain, the Portuguese captain stated, according to A Bola: "I want to enjoy this tournament as much as possible, because it will be my last World Cup, yes."
Ronaldo expressed confidence in his team's ability to progress, adding: "But I hope tomorrow's match won't be my last in the World Cup."
He also dismissed repeated questions about the end of his career, saying: "I will end my career when I want to, not when you want me to. For 23 years, you have been trying to kill me in the media, but you realized that it was just a waste of time."
These comments from the 41-year-old come ahead of the crucial clash against Spain, where he aims to lead Portugal to the next round and extend his final participation in the biggest football tournament for national teams.
