Egypt's preparations have faced an unexpected disruption ahead of their highly anticipated clash against Argentina in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, as severe weather forced the coaching staff to cancel the training session scheduled in Atlanta.

A thunderstorm hit the city, halting the training after about an hour due to safety protocols in the United States. The coaching staff decided to continue the preparation program indoors at the gym to maintain player readiness before the crucial match.

Meanwhile, Argentina's preparations were also affected by the weather, as TyC Sports reported that the coaching staff led by Lionel Scaloni had to cancel their morning training session due to thunderstorms in Miami.

The report added that the Argentine players settled for gym workouts, after it was planned for those who played over 30 minutes in the last match to have a recovery session, while the rest of the squad would undergo physical and technical training before resuming field training in preparation for the match against Egypt.
