The United States men's national team received a boost ahead of their Round of 16 clash with Belgium, as striker Folarin Balogun is eligible to participate in the match despite being sent off in the previous game against Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The FIFA Disciplinary Committee decided to impose a one-match suspension on the player, which is suspended, utilizing the powers granted by Article 27 of the regulations. This means that while the red card remains on his record, he is allowed to play against Belgium.

In response, the U.S. Soccer Federation issued a statement welcoming the decision, stating: "We accept the Disciplinary Committee's ruling, and we are pleased that Folarin Balogun is eligible to participate in tomorrow's match. Our full focus is on facing Belgium in the Round of 16, and we look forward to continuing to support our amazing fans."

Balogun was sent off during the match against Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Round of 32, which ended with the U.S. team winning 2-0, before the Disciplinary Committee granted him the opportunity to play in the upcoming match against Belgium.
