Tottenham Moves to Sign Leão After Player's Initial Agreement
Tottenham Hotspur is moving to sign Portuguese winger Rafael Leão from AC Milan during the summer transfer window, after the player expressed his willingness to consider a move to the London club, according to TEAMtalk.
The source revealed that Tottenham has held preliminary talks with Leão's representatives, led by his agent Jorge Mendes, with the player showing interest in experiencing the Premier League if negotiations with Milan are successful.
The report indicated that Leão is a candidate to leave Milan this summer, while his representatives have been exploring interest from several top European clubs, alongside interest from Saudi league teams.
Additionally, the site noted that Arsenal, Manchester United, and Barcelona are monitoring the player's situation, but have not made him a priority in their plans, giving Tottenham a better chance to enter the race for his signature.
The report also confirmed that Tottenham's management continues to support coach Roberto De Zerbi's project, having spent around £185 million this summer, while still seeking to add a left winger and a new striker.
The same source indicated that Ruben Amorim, the new head coach of AC Milan, has agreed to Leão's departure as part of the team's rebuilding plan, but finalizing the deal will depend on reaching an agreement with the Italian club, which demands a significant fee to part with their star.
