Al Ahli Close to Signing Trincão for Record Fee

Saudi club Al Ahli is on the verge of one of the biggest transfers of the summer window, having entered advanced negotiations with Portuguese winger Francisco Trincão of Sporting Lisbon.

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that talks between the two clubs have made significant progress, with the player welcoming the opportunity to experience a new challenge in the Saudi Pro League next season.

Reports indicate that the deal could reach around €50 million, making it one of the most notable and expensive transfers expected in the current summer transfer market.

Al Ahli's interest in signing Trincão is part of their search for a future replacement for Algerian star Riyad Mahrez, taking advantage of the Portuguese player's exceptional technical skills and speed in the attacking third.

Sporting Lisbon renewed Trincão's contract until the summer of 2030 last March, maintaining a release clause of €60 million, while the club hopes to complete his sale for an amount between €40 and €50 million.

Trincão began his journey with Sporting in 2022 on loan from Barcelona, before purchasing part of his rights and then acquiring full ownership in the summer of 2025, with a total investment of €18 million.

During his time with the Portuguese team, Trincão has played 208 matches, scoring 47 goals and providing 51 assists, contributing to two Primeira Liga titles and one Taça de Portugal victory.
