Croatian star Luka Modric is inclined to continue his journey with Milan for the 2026/2027 season, despite his contract ending and the team's failure to qualify for the Champions League, a move that could provide a significant boost for the Rossoneri ahead of the new season.

According to "Football Italia," the 40-year-old Modric has become a free agent after his contract with Milan expired on June 30, having joined the club on a one-year deal with an option for an additional year, which has now lapsed.

"La Gazzetta dello Sport" confirmed that the chances of the Croatian national team captain continuing with Milan for another season are increasing, although a final decision has yet to be made, as the club's management wishes to retain the veteran midfielder.

The report highlighted that Modric enjoyed his experience with Milan last season, despite the team's disappointing end, and the adaptation of his daughter, who plays for Milan's U13 team, is one of the factors encouraging him to continue his career at the Italian club.
