Mbappe: We Showed Our Strength, Excited to Face Morocco
Kylian Mbappe, captain of the French national team, stated that his team has demonstrated its ability to win tough matches after qualifying for the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup with a 1-0 victory over Paraguay in the Round of 32.
In comments after the match, Mbappe said: "We knew the type of match that awaited us, and I think we performed very well. We showed that we are not just a team that excels in attacking football, but we can also fight in tough matches until the end."
He added: "Some thought we would play in a flashy style and settle for beautiful passes, but we also know how to play a fighting game when the match requires it. Today we won in that way, and we were the better team even in the style that the opponent wanted."
Regarding the upcoming match against Morocco, he said: "We know very well that Morocco is a very strong team, and we are excited to face them. We will give everything we have to continue our journey in the tournament."
He concluded by saying: "Now we need to regain our energy and focus completely on the next match against Morocco. Achraf Hakimi has already contacted me, but when the match starts, each of us will focus on our national team."
