Klopp at the Helm: German FA's Plan to Restore National Team Glory
The German Football Association is reportedly planning to give Jurgen Klopp extensive powers should he take over as head coach of the national team, as part of a comprehensive project to rebuild German football.
According to Sky Germany, the association does not just want to appoint Klopp as a coach, but aims to give him a pivotal role in leading the entire sports project, both on and off the pitch.
The plan includes allowing Klopp to choose his entire coaching staff, which will feature Pep Lijnders, Peter Krawietz, and Zolt Löw, along with the freedom to reshape the playing style of the German national team.
Additionally, the German coach will have a direct influence on player selections for the national team, as well as a key role in restructuring youth categories and developing talents, as part of a long-term vision to return the team to competing for major titles.
This comes after Julian Nagelsmann's departure from the national team following the elimination from the 2026 World Cup in the Round of 32 at the hands of Paraguay, with Jurgen Klopp being the top candidate for the role in the upcoming phase.
