Tchouaméni Out for Paraguay Clash
France has received a blow ahead of their Round of 16 match against Paraguay in the 2026 World Cup, as midfielder Aurelien Tchouaméni has been ruled out due to a muscle injury sustained during training.
According to French media reports, the vice-captain of the "Les Bleus" felt pain in his thigh during the training session held on Friday, prompting the coaching and medical staff to exclude him from the Paraguay match, with expectations of a recovery period of around four days.
Should France advance to the quarter-finals, Tchouaméni is expected to be fit to return to action by July 9, while the medical team will closely monitor his condition in the coming days.
Midfielder Manu Koné is set to replace Tchouaméni in the starting lineup for France against Paraguay, as the blue team aims to continue their journey in the tournament.
