Alonso Targets Real Madrid Duo for Chelsea
Xabi Alonso is strategizing to bolster Chelsea's squad during the summer transfer window, with Real Madrid duo Aurélien Tchouaméni and Arda Güler among his top targets, should Enzo Fernández leave for Real Madrid.
According to Spanish newspaper "Sport," Alonso prefers Enzo to stay at Chelsea but has urged the club's management to pursue Tchouaméni or Güler if the Argentine midfielder makes the switch to the Spanish capital.
The report adds that Alonso is well-acquainted with both players from his time at Real Madrid, where he relied heavily on Tchouaméni and gave Güler a significant role that contributed to his development.
It was also noted that Alonso attempted to sign Álvaro Carreira as a replacement for Marc Cucurella, but Real Madrid rejected a €25 million offer, insisting on keeping the player.
The futures of Tchouaméni and Güler are uncertain with José Mourinho taking over at Real Madrid, as the Frenchman remains among the candidates to leave, while Güler is not considering a departure this summer.
The report confirms that the potential transfer of Enzo Fernández, estimated at around €130 million, could prompt Real Madrid to sell one of their players to offset the cost, which may give Chelsea a chance to secure one of their targets.
