Australia is gearing up to face Egypt tomorrow evening in the Round of 32 of the 2026 World Cup.

Assistant coach Mile Jedinak spoke to the media about the tactical plan to confront the Egyptian team.

In comments published by ESPN Australia regarding how to neutralize the threats of Mohamed Salah and Omar Marmoush, Jedinak stated: "We view them as a collective unit, and it's clear that as a coaching staff, we are analyzing individual players' performances as well, and we have ongoing internal discussions about how to handle that."

Jedinak further elaborated on his tactical vision: "Now that we've passed the group stage, we have had a few days to analyze things, and they pose a threat all over the pitch, which is their style, as they have players of very high levels, whether they have been performing well for a long time or are excelling in their roles with their clubs and the national team."

He continued discussing the playing style, saying: "I believe our approach relies more on teamwork, and how to convey these tactical messages and implement them accurately with our players on the field."
