USA Secures Round of 16 Spot with Win Over Bosnia and Herzegovina
The United States men's national team has secured its place in the Round of 16 of the 2026 World Cup, defeating Bosnia and Herzegovina 2-0 in their Round of 32 match, continuing their journey in the tournament while Bosnia and Herzegovina exits the competition.
Folarin Balogun opened the scoring for the U.S. team in the 45th minute, ending the first half with a 1-0 lead.
However, Balogun received a red card in the 64th minute, leaving the U.S. to finish the match with ten players.
Despite being a man down, the United States managed to extend their lead in the 82nd minute when Malik Tillman scored the second goal, securing the victory and their qualification.
The U.S. will face Belgium in the Round of 16 after the Belgian team advanced by defeating Senegal in a thrilling 3-2 match.
