Milan Eyes Virgil van Dijk Signing
AC Milan continues to bolster its squad in the summer transfer market. After securing the signing of Portuguese striker Gonçalo Ramos, the club is now looking for a new center-back in preparation for the upcoming season.
According to "La Gazzetta dello Sport," Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk is the preferred option within Milan, as the idea of signing him has reached the club's owner, who is considering the possibility of making a move to complete the deal.
However, the chances of signing Van Dijk appear limited, as the Dutch defender enters the final year of his contract with Liverpool, and it is unlikely that the English club will part with their captain, especially after the departure of Ibrahima Konaté.
Meanwhile, "La Gazzetta dello Sport" and several Italian media outlets have indicated that Portuguese player Gonçalo Inácio remains the more realistic option to strengthen Milan's defense, with a value ranging between €30 million and €40 million.
Inácio is highly regarded within the club, especially since Milan's coach knows him well from their time together at Sporting Lisbon, where the player has progressed through the ranks since 2012 and is currently participating with the Portuguese national team in the 2026 World Cup.
Milan has officially announced the signing of Gonçalo Ramos for a fee of around €70 million, with the Portuguese striker expected to arrive in Milan after completing his participation with his national team in the World Cup.
