The Saudi Football Federation has confirmed that teams will continue to field 8 foreign players during each match in the Roshan Saudi League for the 2026-2027 season.

Sources have confirmed that this decision will apply only to league matches and will not be implemented in the King’s Cup or the Saudi Super Cup next season.

Guidelines sent to clubs indicate that there will be no changes to the number of players or roster systems, with each team’s roster set between 16 and 25 players.

The Roshan League roster includes 10 foreign players, including two born in 2005, as well as a professional player born in Saudi Arabia, who can be replaced by a Saudi player.

In the Yelo League, teams are allowed to have 4 foreign players along with an optional professional born in Saudi Arabia, or they can replace this player with a fifth foreign player.

Additionally, teams must include 7 Saudi players born in 2004 or later, while the goalkeeper position remains restricted to Saudi players.

In the second division, rosters consist of 3 foreign players and one player born in Saudi Arabia, alongside 6 Saudi players, while the third and fourth divisions will not feature any foreign players.

In the women's premier league, each team will have a roster of 15 Saudi players and 6 foreign players, including one player born in 2006 or later, in addition to two players born in Saudi Arabia.
