Cancelo Pushes Al Hilal for Move to Barcelona
Barcelona is waiting for Joao Cancelo's future to be resolved during the summer transfer window, having decided to postpone decisions regarding full-backs until the Portuguese player's situation becomes clear, according to Spanish newspaper "Sport."
The report states that Cancelo has informed Al Hilal, through his agent, of his desire to leave and not complete the final year of his contract, requesting to open negotiations with Barcelona, emphasizing his commitment to joining the Catalan club.
Furthermore, the player rejected an offer from Inter Milan during the last winter transfer window, preferring a move to Barcelona, and agreed to reduce his salary to facilitate his transfer to the Catalan side, which has strengthened Barcelona's resolve to finalize the deal.
On the other hand, Al Hilal insists on receiving a financial compensation for the player's sale, having requested over €10 million, despite him being out of coach Simone Inzaghi's plans.
Nevertheless, Barcelona is not worried, having reached an agreement with Cancelo for a two-year contract, and is confident in reaching a final agreement with Al Hilal.
The report confirmed that negotiations will accelerate after Cancelo's participation in the World Cup, and if an agreement is not reached, Cancelo intends to intervene personally in negotiations with Al Hilal's management to push for his transfer to Barcelona, having made up his mind not to return to the Saudi club.
