Tebas Praises Barcelona's Economic Recovery
Javier Tebas, president of La Liga, praised the economic recovery achieved by Barcelona during his speech at the inauguration of Joan Laporta as the club's president, emphasizing that the Catalan club has overcome its difficult phase.
Tebas began his remarks by congratulating Laporta and his board on their re-election, stating: "I congratulate Joan Laporta and the board for the success of these elections, and I am confident that Barcelona will achieve sporting success and infrastructure improvements."
The La Liga president also highlighted the importance of the Spotify Camp Nou redevelopment project, adding: "For an organization like La Liga, renewing the stadium is important for the club, for Spain, and for the world."
Tebas discussed the club's financial situation, affirming: "It has been tough years, but you are now on a wonderful path, lacking nothing compared to any club in this country."
He added: "I congratulate you on putting the club on the path to economic sustainability."
The La Liga president touched on the relationship between the two parties over the past years, saying: "We have gone through moments of disagreement, but the most important thing is to handle them within the framework of institutional respect, and we will always strive to seek what is best for our football."
Tebas concluded his remarks by emphasizing Barcelona's importance to La Liga, stating: "We share the same goal, which is to make La Liga great, and Barcelona's successes are La Liga's successes, which makes Spanish football bigger."
